Half of all the illegal downloads tracked by the BitTorrent site Mininova are television shows. Heroes tops the list, followed by Top Gear, Battlestar Galactica, Lost, Desperate Housewives and 24.
TV marks the spot
Most of those are available to cable subscribers in the US, or on free-to-air channels in Europe and the UK, where most of Mininova’s traffic comes from. Some can even be watched on their network’s websites. So why pirate?
